Please help me decide what to do!!!

DS1 has been not 100% for a week or so- tummy ache off and on, not himself, itching especially at night. Looked in his throat last night and he has some small white spots on his tonsils. Its been his birthday party and also a football match over the weekend which he's really enjoyed. He isnt asking to stay off school tomorrow but I know he isnt right- does he need to go to the Doctors? Or is it just a virus that will go away soon? Grrr got a busy day at work tomorrow which doesnt help- and also not feeling well myself which doesnt help- being torn this way and that! Please help me in my feeble state!

Thanks for any replies to this very dull and selfish post Grin

Let's put it this way if your child is feeling unwell and has spots on tonsils then I would say they have tonsilitus if you go to the doctors they may or may not prescribe you antibiotics. But it most definatly sounds like tonsilitus. Bed rest and plenty of fluids is advisable camamile lotion for the itching and paracetamol depending on age of your child would be recommended. Ice cream is a good relief for the swollen sore throat. Hope this is of any help. All the best. And get well soon to your child
