Ds was ill over a week ago and was off school for four days. He has high temp and head ache. I have notice since that his conitive ability has really dipped. He cant follow instruction, cant add two numbers ect His teacher spoke to me about it too.

Yes of course, I'd call NHS now.

That would worry me a lot - please phone for advice

Has he been back to school since? Is he better. What day did the teacher speak to you and how old is he?
Put it in some perspective for us please.

He is 7. He got ill Tuesday before last. He went back on Monday. His teacher spoke to me on Thursday. I notice he was a little 'slow' (can not think of a better word). While he was off school but put it down to being unwell. But I am now worried because its not changed and the teacher mentioned it.

He does have some development delay but this is unusual

Id definatly get to your gp first thing tomorrow to check it out.

I do know when dd has been poorly it takes it out of her & her cognative function, balance & awareness take a few days to come back to normal.
However dd does have a neuro condition so slightly different. X
