When to tell dd (3), that she'll be having an op?

Dd1 who is 3.4 is having her adenoids out Thursday, as well as having something that's stuck up her nose taken out Confused

She'll be under anesthetic and knocked out for it, but won't be in for the night. I'll be there till she gets knocked out.

Normally I tell her what's gonna happen the next day, as she doesn't understand if I say later on in the week.

I want to tell her on Wednesday that she'll be going to the hossy, but dh reackons I should be telling her now. But, I think this will build up and give her time to get scared.

Opinions and experiences are very much welcome.

I would maybe find some books at the library about hospitals and also do a bit of role play even if you don't tell her til Wednesday. A bit of preparation in a relaxed informal way might help.

You know your dd .
There's a good episode of Something Special about a boy going to hospital for an op . I would probably watch that a few times on YouTube and read a story about going to the hospital and then mention that she'll be doing that too.
