Could this be alopecia?

My dd2, now 2.7, has always had a patch on her head where the hair didn't really grow. I have always presumed hair would grow there eventually but it's not really looking that way. I have put a pic on my profile.
I wondered if anyone could offer an opinion as to what it might be and whether I can/should stop worrying about it Smile

take photos over enxt few weeks and monitor. mention to gp.
could she be pulling hair out even when in bed?
my son's alopecia (he has no hair now) started as small round patch. then got more and more patches.

if continues ask gp for referal to dermatologist
there are some steroid creams you can try but they very toxic.

Thanks cestlasvielife I don't think she can be pulling at her hair - the patch has never changed position. I go in fairly frequently to check on her and I've never seen her with her hands up in her hair.
I think I will go and see the GP, my mum wondered today if it could be a form of a birthmark...she did have 2 strawberry marks, but we're just guessing. Not the best idea!
How long did it take from your son developing a small patch to having no hair at all? Just thinking, that her patch has stayed the same more or less from birth.

it its always been tehere and not increasig then could be just something she was born with yes. but you could ask gp to refer to dermatologist as non urgent referral.
