DS2 intermittent fever for 10 days

Been to GP twice. Swollen glands, red tonsils (no white spots), pink ear drums, intermittent tummy ache. He's eating & drinking. Peeing. Vomited once last Thursday (9days ago) and again tonight. He's a bit snotty but nothing much.

Paracetamol & brufen help but its just not clearing. GP says its a virus but surely he would be over it by now

Anyone any advice?

TIA

He's 4 btw

How high is his temp? Is it coming down with meds?

We've had a virus for 2 weeks now and I know a lot of people who are going through the same thing.

DS, DH & I had this over Christmas. It lasted three weeks. Was awful,
We ended up on A&E with DS as he wouldn't feed & we couldn't bring his temp down. Or thing was really suffering.

There have been se horrid viruses doing the rounds this winter. Hope he feels better soon Smile

Could be something like strep even without very sore throat. Think I would be asking for throat swab and/or penicillin by this stage.

Thanks for the replies. He's been more himself today fighting with his brother. Still borderline fever but eating and no further vomit. I was thinking along the lines of a strep throat last week but the GP dismissed that as DS2 had been given Abx by the OOH GP and they were ineffective

Lets see what tomorrow brings

We were given antibiotics for DS's ears but they did nothing as it was viral. Hope he gets better soon Smile
