DS 6yrs started with a mild cold on Sat and then a sudden fever on Sun. His temp has been high 103F for three days, kept under control with Calpol/profen. During this time, he has barely eaten, as everything tasted vile, even toast, plain biscuits etc. He has had a little banana and the odd spoonful of Ready Brek though (!?!) - his choice.

His temp has been stable for nearly a day but he's still showing very little interest in food. He said he felt very weak this morning so I convinced him to try a bit of Ready Brek, after refuses anything else bland. After one spoonful, he has now been sick. However he doesn't feel sick now and hasn't been sick through the duration of this bug.

He now refuses to eat. He's slim at the best of times with very little body fat, so I'm worried for him. What else can I try?

Anyone else had this awful bug?

p.s. he's had body aches etc too so we feel he's had the flu.
