Has anyone had virasoothe, poxclin, eurax lotion or aveeno oat bath stuff/lotion prescribed to them. I have heard they are more effective than calamine but after having a look on the boots website they are also very expensive!!

We've not had anything on prescription, but of all of them I can definitely recommend the poxclin as being the best one to invest in. Calamine lotion can dry their skin and make it more itchy which is why it is no longer recommended, but calamine cream is supposed to be very good.

For baths, I have been wrapping dry oats in a muslin square and dropping it in the bath (you have to give it a bit of a squidge!) - this gives an oat bath that is both cheap and v soothing ( at least it has been for ds).

Hope your dc is better soon :-)
