2yo and chicken pox

I think my dd1 has chicken pox... She's broke out in spots. Had a temp yesterday and this morning but then cooled down but had spots appearing.

She's currently asleep (had calpol) but keeps stirring and whimpering satin ya itchy. In for a rough night I think bless her. Along with bf'ing dd2 in the night hello panda eye tomorrow!Grin

On a serious note.. What remedies can I try.?

I'm going to try calamine lotion and makuna honey and oatmeal bath.

Heard not to take her I drs so will have to think myself what to do. I just worry and think what if it isn't that.

You can get calamine cream too. I think the temperature control (ie Calpol &/or Nurofen) would be most important.

Anti histamine stops or helps at least with the itching

Poor baby, keep her in the warm, but try not to let her get sweaty as that's itchy.

Piriton can help but doesn't taste nice - my 4yo was convinced to take it but my 1yo wouldn't touch it!

Poxcilin mousse and eurax are good - one is only for over 3s and I can't remember which one sorry,

Dd (1yo at time) suffered the most from itching but bicarbonate of soda baths REALLY seemed to soothe her a lot.

Neither of mine were especially ill - just a slight temp o 385ish and hundreds and hundreds of spots!

The spots are quite distinctive once they come out properly - ds had 2 tiny non descript pimples at first but once they turned into chickenpox I just knew - very fluidy iykwim?

Hope you get some sleep.
