Hey my 6mo is pretty blocked up..I've been doing combination feeding but now mainly bottle..also just started giving solids once a day..a mix of some purée and baby led.
She is going around every three days but just nuggets of clay like poo..not watery at all..
I've tired brown sugar water..just water on its own..and water with some apple juice..went to docs and they felt her and said ok..

Just wondering anyone else's baby had this at the start of weaning? And if there are any tips as I feel sorry for her :( thanks!

Yes I did purees with dd1 and didn't have this problem, but dd2 refused to spoon feed so BLW and she was quite constipated at first, once her gut got used to it she got better at digesting the food. What foods are you offering for BLW?

Dd was exactly the same when she started weaning. Lactulose and prune juice mixed with every thing possible. Avoid bananas. It is quite distressing to watch, I remember, but she grew out of it.

Thanks! I've been giving a mix of Ella's kitchen pouches only started a couple of weeks ago and am easing myself in..been giving bits of broccoli cucumber sweet potato etc for blw have taken note of banana avoiding thanks :) but scared about lactulose as don't want to have to continue to give her something but have heard its good..can you get prune juice from most supermarkets? (Probably a dumb question)

Agree about banana and also wheat based products like bread and pasta can do it too.

Prune juice you can get in the juice section of most supermarkets.

Lactulose is brilliant and safe to use for longer periods, but very sweet so offer lots of water. I used it a lot when pregnant and post EMCS.
