Due to enormous confusion over DD's bottles , she has just had milk from a bottle that was used last night and hasn't been washed, just rinsed out. I did have some nice sterile ones to use but that didn't happen.

DD is 7.5 months old.

I am in a flat panic...

Have we just made her ill? If so, how long will the symptoms take to show?

Ergh......

Hope everyone is having a better NYE than me!

TIA for any thoughts...

It will be fine don't worry. Just think how many other unsterile things they out in their mouth at that age every day Grin

Ginshizz · 31/12/2012 20:16

Ok that has helped calm me down! She generally is pretty happy licking the dog I suspect DDog is grubbing than that bottle.

I think I was so paranoid about super sterilising everything when she was tiny I haven't really taken on board everything else she shoves in her mouth now.

Wine for you to say thanks!

I wouldn't worry too much, I dread to think what my ds picks up from the floor and puts in his mouth, he is a similar age Smile

MrsSpencerReid · 31/12/2012 20:17

I'm sure the bottle was cleaner than the dog, unless.... Do you sterilise the dog?! Grin

Rosa · 31/12/2012 20:18

Am sure she will be fine ..if she has already started shoving her fist, toys etc in her mouth she has probably built up some defence. Plus you say it was rinsed so thats a positive!!!

Ginshizz · 31/12/2012 20:22

Yes it was rinsed ... I think it would have been worse if I had given her a full bottle of milk that had been hanging around at room temp all day?

MrsSpencer we haven't sterilised the dog for a while ... He doesn't quite fit in the steriliser any more! Grin

Phew GrinGrin fresh milk in a clean not sterile beaker sounds fine to me, I don't sterilise any weaning stuff so it's not that different really! Go have some WineSmile

MrsSpencerReid · 31/12/2012 20:25

Phew was about the dog, it prob wouldn't appreciate the sterilising Grin

Ginshizz · 31/12/2012 20:27

He's also the size of a donkey so we'd have to fork out a small mortgage to afford one big enough!

Seriously though thank you for calming me down, I was about to call A&E to book a place for later this evening. Fingers crossed she'll be fine. I keep forgetting they are tougher than they look!

I agree with others, no need to worry! At 7.5 months she'll be tough enough to cope! I stopped sterilising when I realised my DS could lick the floor anytime he wanted! I do still wash up Grin but I'm sure a rinse will suffice as a one off! Especially as you usually sterilise- thinking about it, your 'rinsed' bottle that is usually sterilised was probably cleaner than someone else's who consistently washes up poorly.

Ginshizz · 31/12/2012 20:29

Good point abbie thank you!

erm Nevercan don't drink that wine we don't know how clean the glass is

:o OP My DS once found a cup of milk that he'd hidden among his toys for afew weeks and had a swig before I could stop him. It was lumpy and I'm feeling slightly sick typing this. Despite the fact he was the sickliest toddler ever we got away with that one...phew

Nevercan · 31/12/2012 21:01

Lol hold the wine Smile I once found my dd1 playing with loo brush so who knows if that went in her mouth - makes me cringe thinking about it Grin

Ginshizz · 31/12/2012 21:04

Aaaaaaagh! Hilarious about the loo brush!!!

Phew, I saw the preview but couldn't go on to see what you were about to say!

Ginshizz · 01/01/2013 13:55

Thanks for checking in! She's just had a slice of eggy bread, the best part of two pears and a bottle of milk so I think she must be feeling absolutely fine...!
