I'm sitting here rocking dd and have been for about 40 mins while she naps, interspersed with cries because of her cough, wheezing and general snottiness. I'm persevering as she's been up half the night the same.

She's been ill for about 10 days now with a cold and cough but is struggling to recover because of all the catarrh on her chest. She's hardly eating as well. I'm giving nurofen and using children's olbas oil but know from older ds that there isn't any medication until age 6 for this.

We are currently visiting relatives and I'm thinking of taking her to the docs when we're back home, just to get her checked out, but does anyone have any tips in the meantime? We're exhausted with the sleep deprivation and can't even take turns to sleep on the couch because we're not at home.

Might it be a chest infection? Any fever? If so I'd get her seen ASAP

Thanks Bea. She just doesn't seem to be able to shift the catarrh. Will get an appointment with the dr.

Have you tried baby Vicks in her chest or sitting in a steamy bathroom as this might help shift the mucus

On her chest Smile
