Cough causing vomiting

DS (7.5mo) has had a cold this month that over the past week has turned into a very mucousy cough. He's been checked over by the doctor a couple of times and it's not an infection; the mucous is clear. The problem is that he's coughing unril he vomits after many of his feeds, both milk and solid. I'm worried he's not taking in any nutrients or that he might get dehydrated. His doctor said not to worry, just that it will pass. Can't help being concerned though. Any thoughts or tips?

Is he vaccinated ?

Even if yes, there is an outside chance it could be something like whooping cough or parapertussis so do take him back if you are not happy. Nappies should give a good indication of whether he is hydrated enough but again if you are at all worried see a doc or call NHS direct.

:( Hope he is better soon.

Yes he's vaccinated. The doctor said it was bronchiolitis but didn't seem concerned which is troubling me a bit. Nappies have been fine on the whole. Am going to take him to the NHS walk-in centre today to see if an opinion from anyone different will lead to any progress.
