Cold in 4mo

Just after a bit of advice if possible.

DS is 4mo and has developed a cold which has made his breathing very wheezy. It is worse at night and for 2 nights now he has really struggled to sleep.

I am going to go to the chemist in a bit to get olbas oil or vapour rub to try.

Is there anything else I should do/try? Do I need to see a GP? His breathing sounds so awful. :(

Also, if it's relevant, his poo has turned green. Is this due to all the mucus?

Thanks in advance.

Go to gp. My 4 week old had bronchiolitis and the green poo I breast fed is for emails not the good fatty hind milk they need. Xx

go to the GP any wheeze in an infant should be checked out.

hope your DS is better soon.

Thank you. I shall try and get an appointment with the GP.

I didn't want to seem too PFB but it is hard sometimes to know what to do for the best.

chezziejo I hope your DC is better very soon. How very scary for you. :(

I had same in mine at the same age- asthma in the family so a bit freaked out. The docs won't think you're pfb- luckily the wheezing was from airways from the chest but doc said if I'm worried at all to come back straight away even if its the same afternoon. It cleared up on its own (took a while) hopefully it'll the same for you x

Both DH and me have asthma. I hope it's not that. :(

Am awaiting a call back from the surgery. They are busy today so you have to pass a series of questions to prove you are worthy of an appointment! Hmm
