DD a bit under the weather on Thursday, high temperature Friday so kept off school.

Friday night a friend warned me there was CP going around in DD's class so went and checked whilst she was sleeping and a few spots on her tummy. Yesterday morning, lots more spots which increased through the day.
I'd expected her little brother to have spots this morning but so far he seems ok.
I think they are infectious for a day or so before the spots come out so assumed he'd get it but wonder if its possible for one sibling to get it and the other to escape?

He is due at nursery on Tuesday and not sure whether I should take him (assuming he has no signs or symptoms) just in case he might be infectious.

Any advice?

In my experience, siblings come down a 10-14 days later. Or he may have immunity, but if he is not ill, then nursery should have him. Talk to them tommorow.

it was 15 days between dd having it and ds getting it. The incubation period is 10-21 days so there is plenty of time for him to get it! I would continue as normal (with regards to your ds) unless he starts to show symptoms - he would be infectious from 1-2 days before the spots appear and until they crust over (about 5 days after they come out)

fabulous, so DS might have it just in time for christmas Xmas Sad
Really helpful, thank you for that information. Will see how he is on Tuesday morning when he is next due in.

I'm gutted for DD that she will miss so much at school next week, christmas play and party etc. From what you say though, as spots came out friday, she might be 'ok' by next Friday for the party?
