My baby boy is 7 weeks old and still sleeps around the clock. He wakes to be fed every 3-4 hours and has the occasional 45mins-1 hour of awake time then he's off to the land of nod again. He smiles at us and shows some interest in his surroundings when awake, looks at toys, objects etc. but usually stares at nothing or a plain wall. he's not very interested in looking at us for any great time yet though. The HV said we gave to help him develop his gaze - but how when he's always asleep?! Is this excessive sleeping normal?
