Another toddler rash question...

Dd has a very sore raised red patch which I suspect is nappy rash as it follows the line of her nappy and she had leggings on today that we're on the small side

However

She has a rash up her back and her front that is small pinky spots with a white ring around each one, they disappear when touched and my mum who saw them too agreed with my heat rash suggestion

She's had a cough but is alright in herself now and well on the mend, she's gone to bed after a dose of calprofen (for the antihistamine just incase)

Does that sound right? I just want a second opinion without googling!

Its probably more likely to be viral than heat rash imo and I don't think there is an antihistimine in calprofen!!! I thought that was just an ibrufen based painkiller.

Yea it could be all linked with the cold I guess, never thought of that but it sounds more likely!

I didn't think there was but a nurse told me one time dd was poorly to give her calprofen because it contained antihistamine (she might be wrong so don't take it as fact!)

No I don't think your friend is right (I am also a nurse!) She may have been referring to 'calcold' which has something in it that helps children sleep when they are full of cold - may well be an antihitamine though not 100% sure!!

On the plus side once the rash has come out it normally means they are over the worst

Well I'll forget her advice then and if I ever have to take dd to the walk in again I'll tell her she was wrong!

That is th plus side! Wish we all were, it's doing the rounds in our house at the moment and were all living in a permanent fog of olbas and karvol!
