Reflux after D and V bug?

Hi

DD2 7.5 mo, had a nasty bug two weeks ago with sickness lasting 4 days and diarrhoea that's ongoing.

Since the bug she has been waking every hour or so through the night and is impossible to put down. When she wakes she doesn't whimper but goes into full on crying - it sounds like she's in pain. She's become fractious during the day too - this is all very unlike her.

I assumed that she was trying to catch up on calories so have offered to BF whenever she wants but I've a feeling that this isn't just hunger.

Could it be reflux? Does anyone have any experience of a similar situation?

Thank you Xmas Smile

My nine month old has just had a similar bug. I think they do get a bit of tummy ache with it as she was really unsettled for a week and now won't go to sleep unless I cuddle her to sleep then put her in her cot. She went completely off eating and only wanted milk for about a week. The diarrhoea lasted about ten days. Maybe your dd is hungry but can only manage little and often, my dd was like that. They do get better though it just doesn't feel like it at the time. She is ravenous now and I've never seen her eat so much. She was fractious and miserable with it too which is out of character for her too.

Keep giving her your breast milk, might be worth trying a dose of calpol just to see if it helps.

Is it possible she might be teething aswell. Our dd managed to cut a tooth as well as having a D and V bug, which was part of the yucky nappies I'm sure.

Hope your dd is feeling better soon, if you think she is suffering too much take her to the doctors.

I hope she feels better soon.
