Pre school booster jab early?

I've received an appointment for my DS2 to have the Dtap/IPV jab. I thought this was meant to be around 3 years 4 months. At the moment he is 2 years 8 months. Is it safe for him to have it this early? Do you think I need to have it delayed?

maybe its to give him more protection from whooping cough as that is included in the pre-school jab. Could you phone the gp and ask

Thanks for replying, I'm going to pop in tomorrow to ask them.
