rotten milk teeth :(

I was a little PFB with my DC, organic everything natch, only drank water in cup, brushed teeth. Then DS went to stay with my mother for a bit (I had to move house 5 times in a year, had crazy hard exams) in no time at all, despite my strict instructios, he had fruitshoots every day (YES I KNOW)
and now his front teeth are destroyed.
Is there anything I can do about this? They took him to a dentist but is there anything that can be done to approve the appearance of them too? I don't want him to be bullied :( feel like such a failure even though it had nothing to do with me, I shouldn't have sent him there.

How old is your DS? Milk teeth start to fall out any age between 4 - 7.

Sometimes the dentist will recommend extraction of the damaged teeth and just wait until the adult teeth come in. In children of school age it is not necessarily that obvious as lots of other children have gappy smiles.

My DS is 7 and has only lost one baby tooth so far. I thought I had look after his teeth really well - brushed properly, only drank milk, limited sweets and visted dentish every six months. However on our last visit she told me he had a hole in one of his teeth and needed filling. She told me off about his diet and dental hygeine and I felt awful

Thanks gilmoregirl. It's just so upsetting isn't it. That guilt and horror and shame. (even though it's not my fault, nobody else will know that!) Also it's really bad, it's all of his top front teeth. Completely rotten. He's 3.
