Can I do anything for poor DD?

She has the most awful cough. Quite dry but relentless. It started on Friday but has got worse. She is crying with frustration and is exhausted

Have tried otc cough medicine but it hasn't helped.

She's 14.

All those things they suggest when they're babies, sitting in a steamy bathroom, plenty to drink, vicks, paracetemol.
Cough mixtures rarely do anything ime, Since she's 14 I would be tempted to give her a hot toddy, but a warm soothing drink (honey and lemon or hot ribena are my favourites) would probably help just as much.
