Stinky wee in nighttime nappy - normal?

2.11 y.o. DS's nappy absolutely reeks in the morning. I have to give him a morning bath as otherwise he stinks too. Is that normal or should I be concerned?

He wees loads at night - he soaks a nappy with a maxi sanitary towel as a booster, and often leaks out onto a cloth booster that we wrap round his waist. He does bf at bedtime, but uses the toilet before bed and rarely bfs/drinks at night.

He is a very restless sleeper and seems to be more restless if he doesn't have a bedtime drink of water - which makes me wonder about some sort of bladder irritation.

During the day he drinks way more than most children his age, though I wouldn't say he wees particularly frequently.

Without wishing to alarm you, I would take him to the doctor and ask for him to be tested for diabetes. Drinking and weeing a lot can be symptoms.
