Dd, just 3, has a lump on her finger just under the nail.
She must have picked at a bit of skin as there's a small scab there, just underneath her fingernail.
There's a noticeable lump though under it which is rather pink.
She hasn't complained of it hurting at all.
So I've smothered it in Savlon but am thinking do I need to get antibiotics?
I've slapped loads of Savlon on

Hi, my Dd had exactly the same thing in June of this year, she had a lump which gradually got bigger right by the nail bed, at first it did'nt hurt, but eventually it looked quite inflammed and she said it hurt. I too put germoline and a plaster on it thinking she had maybe pulled a piece of loose skin, but took her to the GP in the end who said it was infected, and that once the infection had gone down it would reveal a wart as you could just see what I thought was a small black scab. We were given antibiotics which cleared the infection up, and also dabbed some 100% tea tree oil on it which dried up the wart and then fell off. I checked with the GP if this was ok to do and he said it would'nt do any harm. My Dd finger is as good as new. Hope this helps.
