Toddler intermittent vomiting

DS is 22 months. On Monday he woke at 9pm and vomited 3 times over a couple of hours. Next day he was fine but hasn't had much appetite. Drinking ok. He still BFs approx twice a day.

Just woke tonight and was burping, and his tummy was growling. He then vomited and was very upset. This doesn't seem like a classic bug to me, not vomiting copiously and isn't sad (unless he's just puked), and he's had no diarrhoea. I think I'll take him to the doctor tomorrow?

Fingers crossed for no more sick tonight as he's in my bed now

Oh I was so close to starting a similar thread.

Dd (4) had a bug that went through the whole family two weeks ago, in the week that followed she woke a few times and vomited a very small amount (like a tabespoon) then went back to sleep. Then last Sunday she was very sick once at bedtime, then fine and then tonight she is throwing up again repeatedly. So odd.

Hope your ds is fine and not sick again. There are an awful lot of bugs around atm.

Yeah, she was sick four times in an hour and a half and she was fine and slept. She seems perfectly fine this morning too, it's really odd.

Are you still takin your ds to the dr's? I'm not sure what to do.

Exact same here except with runny nappies. Just bf her and she's dropped off. Dr opens in 12 mins, unsure what to do!

Had the same here. They vomit, seem to recover, eat and drink a little so you think they're on the mend and then suddenly start vomiting again that night or the next day!

It lasted about 4 days with my eldest DD and then finally went away for good.

He had a horrid runny pale nappy this morning - yuk! But he mainly ate pale food yesterday so I'm not sure if I should worry. I think I'll make an appointment so I'll have to join the race on the phone at 8.30.... Hope she's ok minicc

How did you get on PseudoBadger? Dd has a UTI, feel like a very bad mother for not realising.

this sounds exactly like my DS (3.5) - he had a couple of days of pale, runny poos then projectile vomited all over the dinner table on Wednesday night. Was fine all evening and night and then threw up again on Thursday morning. Managed to eat yesterday and seemed fine but threw up again this morning and looks like he might again.... very confused!

Did anyone take their DC to the doctor? am hoping to avoid if I can as it's a bit complicated with the GP for us at the moment (not entitled to NHS, very difficult to get anyone to see us) and I'm 35 weeks pregnant so really don't want to get it myself either.

The Dr was happy that DS doesn't seem to have any throat/ear infection and appeared to have no pain in the abdomen or temperature. He asked is he weeing as normal, which he is, but that appears to be the only consideration he gave to a uti. How was your DDs diagnosed?

So basically if he's still the same in 7 days (so mon/tues) I gave to take him back. He's napping now so I'll see how lunch goes when he wakes up.

She had to wee in a cup, slihtly easier with a 4 year old than a 22 month old though I do remember having to get a wee sample from ds when he was a baby and he had to have a little bag taped on to his penis, bless him.

But yes, she wee'd and the dr dipped it, she is on anti-biotics, so hopefully it is all over and we can all get some much needed sleep.

Hope your ds recovers quickly, if they suspect a uti I am surprised they didn't want a sample. If he seems to get anymore unwell do take him to the out of hours.

Well poor DS was just sick all over his bed, and again in the bath. He's been fine all day with a slightly better appetite. I'm hoping he's just overdone it on the food? Bland meals for a whole longer I think.

Hey, sorry only just seen this. Dd is fine now and so much more chirpy, she must have felt awful with a uti bless her.

How are you getting on? Think we have the same thing with Ds 14 months. Projectile vomiting every few hours seems fine in between although napped much longer than usual. Fingers crossed he's better tonight/tomorrow

Sorry I didn't reply! I hope DS is better now, still not a great appetite, but no vomit since Saturday night. Hope everyone's feeling better!

We've had a trip to a and e for some rehydration. No puke since yesterday lunchtime then tears at bed time just now and a big vomit. He's trying to get to sleep but very fidgety. Might be in for another rough night
