Scarlet Fever & Work

I'm pretty confident my 4yo will be diagnosed tomorrow with scarlet fever. I've been reading how contagious it is and was wondering, as I work in a secondary school and would love the time off, whether I should be going into work. I know dd needs to be kept away from reception till the rash disappears though I'll confirm with the school but not sure whether adults in contact with sufferers should be as cautious.
