constant wetting

hi all, i have a nearly 7 year old ds and he sometimes wets himself at night and during the day. we can go weeks and then it will happen for a couple of days. he also seems to go to the toilet alot but is really fast when he goes. any advice please?

talk to gp, they can send him for an assessment and help you to move forward.

there are different type of bed wetting indicating different "problems" , but they will advise you in this.
we tried the alarm - didn't work for us but worked fantastically for DS1's cousin.
Desmomelt did the job, I was suspicious at first as didn't want him addicted to anything and be dependent, but you typically use it for 6 weeks, take a break see if there's result then decided whether to have another course and another. it's great stuff.

DS1 is no 11, still has occasional accident and floods the bed, but it is really infrequent. also if he goes away on a school trip or holiday he takes the desmomelts for a couple nights to be safe.


I don't know about going to the loo a lot - does he drink a lot? also if he drinks Ribena/black currant it contains caffeine which has a diuretic effect (you wee more, same as tea, coffee, cola even hot chocolate!)
