cold,then D&V with white spots inside lips and gums????

So yeah, he had a cold (he's 5) which turned into D&V yesterday, this has stopped today, but his throat is really sore and his teeth and gums?!
Just looked in his mouth and it's really red, with white spots on inside bottom lip and bottom gum at very bottom. As this D&V thing has been going round school, I haven't thought about the docs, do you think i should now? what the hell are those spots?

Are the spots like ulcers? Could just be that if he's run down. The other thing I thought of is hand, foot and mouth disease. Not 100% on the symptoms of that though.

Hand foot and mouth is nothing to be afraid of, it's not related to Foot and Mouth that animals get, HF&M is a relatively mild childhood illness.

Ok, I'll google it! going to take the dog out now, think fresh air and getting out of this ?*&%?£@ house will do us all the world of good!
