Do you have any secret remedies to help see of a cold?

..Dd is due to have a tooth out under General anaesthetic next week, bit they can't do the GA unless she's fully fit and well.
She developed a cold yesterday morning, was coughing through the night and had a temp last night, this morning and again this evening.
Anybody have any tips or remedies to speed up her recovery?

Off not of

steam inhalation will clear her snout and chest, but left to itself, a cold will hang on for a week. Given the right treatment, you can cure it in seven days.
