if your child was using their inhaler in school, at what point would you like to be phoned?

Do you think that if they have used it a certain number of times then you need to know?

Do you think that so long as they are not having an actual attack, then they are ok?

How much in the way of updates on their inhaler use would you like?

If dd2 had used her inhaler (ten puffs) and was still wheezing then I'd want to know.

She's largely grown out of it, she's a teenager now, but when she was younger the attacks would come on hard and fast and be very difficult to control. We had many hospital visits and overnight stays whilst they sorted her out.

DS is 5.

I have asked to be contacted if he is still having problems breathing after they have given him an "emergency" dose, on top of his standard use - as it might need a trip to the doctor for the stronger stuff.

School tell me at end of day if he has had more than the standard use.

I have also given them permission to call emergency services if he is in serious difficulty and they can't control it, without having to find me first.

Ds is 6 . He is on seritide montuelakst loradatine and ventolin for his asthma.
School give him ventolin daily anyway but if they think he is finding it hard they do a peak flow if it is low they give him ventolin. If after ventolin the peak flow is still low they phone me 9 times out of 10 he ends up coming home anyway.
They always tell me and gp if he has had extra ventolin.
