Soap to wash child's face?

When the DC were little I would use the bath water (with Halos 'n' Horns in it) to wash their faces. Now they're having showers and using soap and I don't know what they should wash their faces with? Soap is presumably not good on faces? They do get food and sometimes mud on them so just water probably wouldn't be enough. What do yours use? TIA.

I just rely on the shampoo to clean their face as it runs down! Or use wipes before they get in.

Water and a flannel, no soap
