CityDoc - single measles jab

Has anyone been to this clinic for the single measles jab either in London or in other parts of the UK?

They seem to be a lot cheaper than all the other places that offer this vaccine (Rouvax) and they also seem to have appts available almost rightaway - I just wonder why this is as it makes me feel slgihtly uneasy to go to them. Having said that it would be nice to save nearly £40...

Can anyone recommend them personally?

Just phoned CityDoc again and found out that you don't even need an appointment, it's a walk-in clinic....most peculiar .

Anyone knows about them??

Thanks for the info, it's reassuring to know that I've finally found someone who knows someone with personal experience and says they're alright!!

DH is not worried about the price difference at all and just reminded me of our recent chicken pox vaccinations. As far as I can tell babyjabs have a standard £120-ish for most of their vaccines, whereas other places would have different prices according to the type of vaccine. With the CP jab we ended up going local and paid only £85 per dose.

Anyone else reading this morning? We're planning on vaccinating today...

If you get the single jab for measles where do you get the separate vaccinations for rubella and mumps?

Just to report back, we went and the place was absolutely fine, they run a single MMR clinic (measles and rubella, no mumps) and use exactly the same vaccines as everywhere else but charge nearly £40 less. It's a walk in clinic, so no waiting for appts for days and keeping fingers crossed that LO stays healthy...

So how do you get your LO immunised against mumps then? Surely that's important as well, it causes sterility in boys.

Mumps will only affect fertility if it causes orchitis post-puberty and, even then, only rarely. Our main priority is to vaccinate against measles to begin with then have the first MMR jab around the age of 4-5 if they haven't caught rubella and mumps naturally by that time.
