Ds (aged 7) is booked in for his flu jab on Saturday morning (he has severe asthma). He's had a chesty cough for almost 2 weeks now which in itself has not overly worried us as this is quite common for him when the weather becomes colder and damp. However, last night he developed a high fever and although ibuprofen is helping he is still very hot to touch and flushed yet pale at the same time (he is naturally very dark skinned).
My question is, is it still advisable for him to have flu jab as planned? I vaguely remember that a fever can mean some immunisations should not be given but don't know if this applies to flu jabs or indeed the time frame.
