Is an ENT referral a good idea for dd?

My dd is 6 and has asthma. She is on Seretide and Singulair.

She is having a lot of trouble with her nose running and being stuffy. It is causing her problems sleeping.

Although she never had trouble with tonsilitis in the past she has had 3 episodes this year that required antibiotics.

She has allergies and we have been dealing with the nose as an allergy problem but now I am wondering if instead of the allergies causing rhinitis etc maybe her nose is causing problems with her cough etc.

We see a general Paed consultant who we like but he definitely is more a 'treat the symptoms rather than seek a cause' type of dr.

Has anyone any experience?
Could an ENT referral be useful or since she has had only a few bouts of tonsilitis and no ear problems would it be unnecessary?

Thanks

It is unlikely to do any harm so why not ask your GP for a referral. The least that will happen is that you will be reassured nothing needs doing and beyond that perhaps something may need to be dealt with and can be done to help her further.
