Help re: constipation in 10mo

My 10mo dd is really constipated. She is breastfed other than 3 days per week when I work. She's on 3 meals a day, porridge with fruit for breakfast, and homemade purée for lunch and dinner which is a meat, carrots, broccoli or peas, and potato or sweet potato. She also has a fruit pot at every meal. I've tried boiling and pureeing dried prunes (giving 1tsp 3 times daily) but poos still hard as a rock and she isn't going everyday. She drinks a beaker of water every day and breastmilk on demand. I really don't want to have to give her lactulose but running out of ideas now! Any suggestions?

Have you tried lactulose? It softens everything up so it's easier to pass.

Have you tried prunes, raisins or a dash of orange juice in water?

Does she have formula on the days you're at work? If so try a different brand.

I can't try a different brand formula because she is on a special formula for dairy allergy. I've tried prunes, I'm guessing lactulose is inevitable Sad

Ah ok. Some foods made dd constipated at that age, particularly bananas.
