Help! I've been giving dd too much antibiotic

Hoping for some advice and reassurance please..

Dd is 2 years 10 months old, she is on a low dose of Augmentin, 2.5ml, twice a day... But I've been giving her 5 ml, twice a day (since Wednesday)!

I feel terrible, the last 2/3 bottles have been 5 ml doses, and this bottle is different and I just didn't think to check.

She has been on either low dose or full dose antibiotics for almost a year, do I need to tell her GP? Will it do her any harm? My instinct is no, but any advice would be great!

She will be fine, when DD ended up in hospital the first thing they did was double her medication.

Why has apshe been on antibiotics for nearly a year?

Ring NHS direct for advice. It doesn't sound too drastic, but I'm not a doctor.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Sharp - yep, in hospital they tend to switch her meds as and when so that's why I'm not panicking too much.

I think I will ring the community nurses in the morning just to double check.

She has recurring chest infections, which have got worse since she had Pneumonia in Feb, she comes off them for a few days, gets an infection, goes on a full does then back onto a low dose.. and repeat..
