Starting periods or something else?

On Saturday night and Sunday DD (12 next month) had some spots of blood on her pants. I assumed this was the start of her periods but nothing else has happened and there has been no more spotting. So I am now a bit confused and think she may have torn her hymen. On Saturday during the day she had a horse riding lesson, ballet class and then spent hours trying to do the splits with her friends. Is that possible or is the spotting the start of her periods?

I don't know, but it i think it might be her period as they are known to be irregular at the beginning and can go on to be so for the first 2 years. Mine definitely were

I would say she is gearing up to start her period. I remember when I was 12 being at school and (TMI) going to the bathroom and when I wiped I had a bit of a clot. This was it for a while, nothing else and then period started within a couple of months
