So there's always a runny/blocked nose too? If its just a cough and it's been going on for weeks it should be raising asthma alarm bells. I have no real knowledge apart form my 10yo who coughed for months (almost years actually), he was constantly asked about increased coughing at night.

If it's a cold I think its just something you have to put up with - all advise now is not to medicate, the cough is a good natural response to virus/ infection and children should be allowed to cough. I know this doesn't help much, I spent many evenings in tears myself listening to DS2 hack away.

Hope it disappears soon.

HI gabbas......you poor thing. Lack of sleep is rubbish!

Night coughing is often associated with asthma, as the PP said....have you spoke to your HV/GP about this?

We like the vicks on the feet technique. Think its an old wives tale, but who cares if it works! Rub some vicks on the soles if your LO's feet and pop some socks on top.....no idea how it works but worth a try eh?

Hope you get some sleep soon Smile
