Do I need to see the doctor for a prescription or can I just get some medicine from the pharmacy? DD is struggling to sleep and wondered if I can go to the 24hr chemist.. Many thanks for any advice..

You can get effective treatment over the counter from any pharmacist. Don't need to see a doctor at all. You will need to get the whole family treated though as it can spread really easily. most treatments require you all take 1 tablet each and then another in a week's time. HTH.

The treatment is quite expensive (I think) and your doctor will prescribe tablets for the whole family on a child's (free) prescription. Remember to have a good wash and change bed linen in the morning.

Also some sudocrem might help her with the irritation. Taking the pill tonight instead of tomorrow isn't going to stop her getting irritated tonight.
