Possible UTI what should I do?

I'm potty training DS and he's not having accidents, he's holding in. Well this morning he had a slight fever, this afternoon it's 39.7. I've calpol-ed him up.

But stupidly I've googled and am now worried he may have a UTI/bladder infection. Can't get a GP appointment until tomorrow.
What should I do?

He's not his usual happy self, he had an afternoon nap which is virtually unheard of, he says he's not poorly and doesn't hurt.

Oh poor you. You don't want to drag him out to the hospital. Please try not to panic, you would only be given anti bs for an infection, I don't think a few hours is going to make much difference.

Only you can make the decision whether he needs see to, but try not to worry Smile Just keep checking on him. Hopefully you'll both get some rest.

Its horrible when they are ill.

Thank you again, his temperature has come down a little and he's sleeping, he's a little restless, but I'm feeling calmer now. Had a nice phone all from DH who is currently on the other side of the world, but that has made me feel a bit better.

He's definitely going to the doctors tomorrow, and I'm going to attempt to get a wee sample before I put him back in nappies. By beautiful boy has a strong bladder and excellent too good control but isn't emotionally ready.

Counting down... 45mins before I can phone the GP. Very, very restless night. Sad

Hope you managed to get seen...

No UTI... No explanation though of where his fever is coming from because there are no other symptoms but Dr did say they've had lots of cases of chicken pox recently so to keep an eye out for spots. Dr advised to stop potty training because he's not 100% and to try again later.

How stressful is being a parent?!?! Smile

Thank you for your advice.

Glad you got sorted. That's the thing with children they get ill with no explanation sometimes. They're so selfish Grin.

Hope he feels better soon Smile
