Bright red lower gum

I noticed this morning my daughter has a bright red lower gum just below her middle front teeth. It dosent seem to be bothering her and theres no bleeding. she eats a fairly healthy diet, along with the usual childrens chocolate buttons. She eats lots of fruit each day, I do wonder if sometimes she has a little too much fruit as I wonder if the acid would affect her teeth/gums. She recently had tonsillitis could this be an affect of that? Im just wondering if I should take her to the dentist?
