and his adenoids too.

Hes nearly five, gets recurrent tonsilitis which knocks him out for a few weeks at a time and snores terribly and sleeps badly due to large adenoids, so we are glad he is having it done.

But it feels quite scary, general aneasthetic etc. Can anyone tell me their experience? Thanks

DD had it done at 5. It was fine although the hospital didn't warn me she would need 2 week after off school and would be at risk of infection so I had to make sure I could have that time for her to convalesce at home because she was advised not to go to other people's houses. She was a different child after, probably because she was finally having decent sleep. Wishing your DC all the best.

One of mine had it done at age 3, a different child afterwards, eating with mouth closed, eating more quickly, no snoring, no green snot, and as for the op, grommets too, sailed through it and bored on day 3!

In and out of hospital the same day, eating normally, went back to the childminder after a week as she was so bored at home. I know she was supposed to stay home for 10 days, but other minded children were all healthy and the childminder was happy to have her.

She could have caught a cold from anyone on the street, so I figured it was okay to send her to her usual environment.
