Dd, aged 8, has been complaining of headaches on a regular basis over the last couple of months. These are not bad enough to stop her doing things or even to require calpol. She mentions it and then carries on as normal. I've made sure she has enough to drink, eat, sleep etc to see if that's the cause but it makes no difference.

This morning was the same and then she said she frequently tastes blood or smells blood. I don't have a clue what that can be about but there seems to beno obvious cause.

She can be a bit dramatic so I don't know if she's trying it on or if there's something I need to be concerned about. What do you think?

No idea, sorry. I'd take her to the GP.

Take her to the Dr,rather be safe than sorry, as it's rare for a young child to complain of headaches.

Ok. Thank you. I just didn't want to waste anyone's time if it's nothing.

Does anyone have any idea about the blood taste thing?

I sometimes get a slight taste of blood if I cough with a chesty cough. I also find if I've had a nose bleed then I get odd tastes of blood for a few days afterwards.

On the headaches, has she had her eyes tested recently?

beautifulgirls · 09/08/2012 20:11

Sinuses perhaps?

Hassled · 09/08/2012 20:17

Has she had her eye sight tested?
Agree you should get her checked out.

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 10/08/2012 09:22

I'm going to try to get her seen today.

For a family where all the adults have poor eye sight it never occurred to me to get her sight checked. Shock Talk about missing the obvious!

Thanks everyone.
