Hi,

My DD has a massive boil on her bot and the doctor has given her antibiotics.

She has never had one before and I forgot to ask doctor if giving her a warm bath would be ok.

Please can anyone advise?

Doctor said if the size does not go down tomorrow we have to take her to A&E to have it drained. Any idea how they do this?

She is ok in herself but as soon as I wash it it really hurts her.

Thanks

X

I thought putting a cloth soaked in warm salt water was meant to help draw it out and keeping it covered with plaster and tea tree oil (antiseptic)... sorry no actual experience myself just something I'd hear (or read?) could help... google?

Thanks. I did bathe it but it's so hard I think she might have to have it drained. Sad

Hopefully the antibiotics will take care of any infection as I have been given a 10 day course.

Will wait until tomorrow morning and see how she is.

Thanks for responding. Smile

The only issue is warmth encourages the multiplication of the bacteria, ie in toothache abcess warmth not encouraged.
