Spotty baby

My ds is 5 weeks old.ast tuesday he came out in spots on his face, head And chest - they are red and raised and look pretty much like normal adult pimples. They fade when pressed. He has also been sounding mucousy and that afternoon his temp went over 38 so I took him to the gp. She thought he was ok but referred him to children's a and e to be checked - blood and urine tests fine so they said its just a virus, no need to dose him up with anything. But a week later the spots are still there. No worse but no better either. He seems ok otherwise apart from the mucous which is still there. Should I take him back to the doc? Or could it just be baby acne? Would appreciate any views!

I remember my first baby went through a spotty phase. Turned out it was a reaction to fairy nonbiological washing powder. I changed to own brand supermarket and they disappeared!

Hi Sjnunatlast, I did wonder if it could be a reaction to something like that but I thought if it was that they would be all over him rather than just his face? Going o take him to a drop in clinic today anyway as the midwives and nurses always seem v good.

Good idea. Hopefully they can give you an idea of what is causing it.

I hope he feels better soon

Hmmm they thought it might be down to hormones caused by breastfeeding??
I think I'll take him back to docs. Will change washing powders as well tho, worth a shot!
