hi there, am new to this site so be nice ladies!

my dd is 8months old and we joined a weekly swimming class when she was 4months old, since joining she had has 2 bouts of tonsillitis and we missed 4 lessons consecutively so decided to restart in the summer as she had missed so much, so far we have managed 2 lessons and now she is ill again! have been getting stick from family etc saying we shouldnt be taking her, kids can pick up so many germs from swimming blah blah blah and i just wondered what you guys thought, is it just coincidence or is the swimming making her more susceptible to these illnesses?has anyone else had any experience of this? she loves the swimming and really don't want to stop the lessons but at the same time of course don't like seeing her poorly!

thanks in advance

Tonsillitus is probably something your susceptible to. I suffered very badly from it as a child and didn't really start swimming until I had my toils out.
My dcs both have been swimming every week since they were 6 months old and Ds 16 had tonsillitis once when he was 2,and dd 14 has never had it at all.
