I just noticed a blister on ds neck. Its just a little one. He also has a couple the same on his chest. Is this it?? Damn it. He is 3.5. Do I need to take him to the doctors? What supplies do I need if it is. Sorry he is Pfb and ive got no idea what I need to do. They have been going round at nursery so I presume it is. Meh.

It most likely is, if he does have it you'll know soon enough there will be more spots to come. You don't need to go to the doc's as you should limit his exposure to other people especially to a doc surgery where people will already be compromised.

He may be fine with it, or he may be really itchy and irritable, piriton may help, calimine creams, sudocream, oat baths all help.

With all that said, if your ds really suffers and has complications due to chicken pox's excessively high temp e.t.c then i do think you should get medical help.

If he seems well in himself I don't think you need to go to the docs, maybe its worth getting a pharmacist to take a look at him as they will probably confirm it. Also you need to be getting some calamine lotion for the itching and plenty of ice lollies incase he gets them in his mouth and doesn't want to drink much if they're sore

Right. Will keep him in for the time being. will get someone to get me Calomine lotion. I have piriton in the house. How long do you think i need to keep him off nursery? Will I need to stay away from work?

You can go to work, that shouldn't be an issue, although if you work with anyone that is pregnant then you could mention it however there is a low risk of passing it on.

He will need to be kept off nursery until all the spots are dried up!!

Have a look at the 'we've got the pox' thread on children's health. I found it very helpful for information, and supportive too. Sorry I cannot link to it.

Thank you will have a look into it.
