ds had been having intermittent severe eye pain for over a year gp never seen any reason for pain then he was found to have cornea scarring by an optician and referred to a specialist, recent app with specialist seemed totally useless the doctor had a look in his eyes and said he seen the scarring and he must have had conjunctivitis (not that i know of) he said to bring him back if pain returns despite me saying it occurs every few days?? he seemed totally unintrested in this point, a follow up letter has explained he seen anterior opacities consistent with atopic keratoconjuntivitis no treatment needed and to go back if pain flares up which it will! as i tried to explain, i have no idea what any of this means or if i have to do anything now? wouldnt i have noticed if he had conjuntivitis? gunky eyes etc? there has been nothing

not sure if related but he also has a year round runny nose and comes out in hives in the sun

any advice or experaince of similar would be great i hate seeing him in pain

Have you ruled out allergies?

Hay fever gives me severe eye pain (but I have lots of eye problems). I was told my eyeballs swell as a reaction to pollen. I control it as best i cab with antihistamine

I also have corneal scarring by the way, A friend (with no other eye problems) gets welts on her eyes due to hay fever and finds that very painful.
