Hayfever in Children

MidWeekSlump · 24/07/2012 13:24

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Currently have a child (11) who this year has started struggling with weather, dust etc etc. generally sneezing a lot and red puffy eyes.

Can I give any hayfever/ allergy tablets or refer to doctor???

Thanks

I started getting hayfever symptoms around that age and was prescribed tablets fairly readily by my GP. That was over 20 years ago though so not sure if current practice!

When I was that age I got a nasal spray fro m the gp. That was about 15 yr ago Smile

My son is the same age and I find piriton
really helps , also buy over the counter eyedrops, pharmacist will help .

He washes his face regularly to help keep pollen off too

I got a nasal spray after talking to the pharmacist. Expensive (£10) but proports to be 2 months' supply.
