Is this slapped cheek virus?

Yesterday afternoon I noticed that DS had quite red cheeks. I put it down to him getting too hot, running around in the park. This morning the redness is still there and when he took his pyjamas off, I saw he now has a rash on his thighs and top of his arms. It also appears to be spreading across his back and tummy now, although its not as bright red there yet.

I have phoned GP but no appointments left today, so waiting for a call back. DS hasn't been unwell at all in the last few weeks- does it sound like slapped cheek virus?

p.s. now that the rash it out he wont be contagious any longer

slapped cheek is all I can think of- he's had chicken pox and it does look like that anyway, had his MMR etc and not allergic to anything.

GP has just phoned and an appointment has become available for DS now to go in. I do hope its not contagious, he's booked to go to playscheme tomorrow and will be upset if he misses it, plus I have important meeting to go to as well!
