DD has a balanced diet and is on cows milk, however today she screamed when she pooped and i had to actually help get the poop out (tmi) which was followed by a really hard and dry one.

What can i do? She drinks loads of water and apple juice, should i try prune juice?

Thanks

If she screamed when she pooped she may have a fissure? Magnesium would help with that and also if she is "just" constipated. Prune juice may help if she is just constipated.

Sure, you can try prune juice. Soft fruit is good too - mango, strawberries, blueberries, etc. Oats are also good - I give DS2 (14 months), porridge for breakfast.

She has porridge for brekkie every morning juneau but the baby stuff, have just bought normal porridge oats so will try them. Also got a melon, some oranges, semi dried apricots (they didnt have prunes) and apple juice so will see how that goes. OOh ive got pear puree in the freezer aswell from the good old weaning days.

Sossiges i am worried about a fissure, we are going for her injections today so will ask advice from practise nurse

Thanks for your replies

You're welcome but if it is a fissure, magnesium is the only thing that helps (whatever they say)
All the best
