Ok so I am waiting for the dr to call but in the meantime can any one help diagnose my DS 2.5yrs?

Had a very high temp for five days (ranging from 39.2 to 40.1) and now has a very red rash of big spots on his face which are now spreading to his arms. Temp seems to have settled though.

TIA

could just be a viral rash following an unspecified virus.

don't think anyone on here can really diagnose for you tbh! hopefully the doctor will be able to put your mind at rest

Thanks this wasn't really expecting a proper diagnosis just wondered if this was some common child hood thing that I'm unaware of as the rash is pretty distinctive and not like the viral rash's ds1 has had over the years.

roseola can come up in response to a virus and can look quite "big"

are the spots blistered?

Ninjacat · 17/07/2012 16:27

Dr has phoned and said to give Piritin.
Have added a couple of pics to my profile.
Probably is just viral though.

Might it be Roseola Infantum? Very, very common:

Think scarlet fever is going about :(

Slapped cheek?

Ninjacat · 17/07/2012 20:08

oops don't know what happened to my profile. Think I have fixed it.

Roseola sounds quite close, rash after a very high temp.

Just hope we are over the worst.

Thanks for all your help.
